The Bohol-Panglao Airport (BPA) marks another milestone with Jeju Air flight 7C4407 landing at around 10:30 AM last Friday, 03 June 2022 — the first international flight landing at the airport since the pandemic started.
CAAP-BPA along with the Department of Health (DOH) and in cooperation with Customs, Immigration, and Quarantine (CIQ) officers facilitated the arrival of 167 passengers from Incheon, South Korea. Jeju Air first landed in BPA last 21 November 2019.
At present, the airport is accommodating flights from Philippine Airlines (Davao, Manila), AirAsia Philippines (Manila), Cebu Pacific (Davao, Manila), and now, Jeju Air (Incheon-South Korea).
“With renewed optimism amidst persisting challenges, BPA hopes that reopening the Philippines’ borders after the COVID-19 crisis will be a turning point in the aviation industry and for the country’s economy,” according to Atty. Rafael Tatlonghari, CAAP Area VII Manager.
The BPA is an international airport on Panglao Island in the province of Bohol. It replaced Tagbilaran Airport when it was inaugurated and opened on 27 November 2018 to support Bohol’s increased passenger traffic due to its growing socio-economic and tourism industries. The airport is also dubbed the first eco-airport in the Philippines.
