AirAsia Philippines Surpasses 90% of 2023 Seat Sales Target, Aims for Strong Finish in Q4

AirAsia Philippines is making significant strides in achieving its ambitious target for seats sold in 2023. As of October 2023, the airline has already reached 90% of its total target and is enjoying an impressive average load factor of 92%. Encouraging indicators in Q4 are driving sales and further growth.

With a goal set to surpass its 2022 performance by an outstanding 60.07% positive difference, the airline is capitalizing on Filipinos’ renewed enthusiasm for travel to various domestic and international destinations, just in time for the holiday season.

“Historically, guests, especially those traveling in groups such as families and groups of friends, book their flights 30 to 45 days earlier than their target travel dates. AirAsia Philippines is giving our guests more options to plan their year-end flights and activities in advance. Lower ticket prices are also an advantage of booking flights early,” according to Ricky Isla, Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia Philippines.

The Philippines boasts one of the longest Christmas and New Year celebrations in the world, and this year’s holidays are anticipated to draw a daily influx of some 125,000 passengers from mid-December 2023 until early January 2024, according to the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA).

AirAsia is playing a pivotal role in sustaining this travel momentum among Filipinos, further motivating them with its “Ready, Set, Go 11.11 SALE.” This promotion offers one-way base fares as low as PHP91 for domestic destinations and from PHP511 to PHP2,911 for international flights. The sale is active from 6 to 12 November 2023, for travel within the period from 6 November 2023 to 30 April 2024.

As of 06 November 2023, more than 150,000 AirAsia guests have already booked their flights for travel between 15 and 31 December 2023. While this represents only 50% of last year’s bookings for the same period, AirAsia Philippines remains confident that they will surpass these figures, especially considering the renewed appetite for travel experiences among their passengers. With the holiday season fast approaching, AirAsia Philippines is well-poised to close the year on a high note, buoyed by their impressive achievements and the enduring spirit of adventure among Filipinos.
