Cebu Pacific’s Newest Airbus A330neo Arrives

In a strategic move to fortify operational resilience and contribute to the sustainability of the Philippine aviation industry, Cebu Pacific (CEB) proudly received its second aircraft delivery of the year last 02 March 2024. The latest addition to their fleet is a state-of-the-art Airbus A330neo, bearing the distinctive tail number RP-C3905.

This delivery marks the commencement of CEB’s anticipated 12 Airbus NEO deliveries scheduled for this year, aligning with the airline’s commitment to meet the surging travel demand. Demonstrating their dedication to environmental responsibility, the new A330neo utilized Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) during its delivery flight from Toulouse, France, to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL).

Sustainable Aviation Fuel is a drop-in alternative with characteristics akin to conventional jet fuels, requiring no modifications to aircraft or engines. The SAF blend boasts an impressive up to 80% reduction in carbon emissions throughout its lifecycle, showcasing Cebu Pacific’s commitment to green aviation practices.

This recent acquisition follows the introduction of the airline’s first aircraft of the year, an A320ceo, on 09 February 2024. Cebu Pacific currently boasts one of the world’s youngest fleets, featuring a diverse mix of nine Airbus A330s, 35 Airbus A320s, 20 Airbus A321s, and 14 ATR turboprop aircraft. This varied fleet enables the airline to offer the most extensive network coverage in the Philippines.

With an eye toward the future, the airline aims to transition to an all-NEO fleet by 2028. The Airbus NEOs, known for their advanced technology, burn 15% less fuel per flight compared to their predecessors, contributing to both economic and environmental efficiency.

As of today, CEB operates flights to 35 domestic and 24 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East. The airline’s continuous efforts to modernize its fleet and embrace sustainable practices underscore its commitment to providing efficient and eco-friendly air travel solutions for its passengers.
