Thailand Extends Temporary Ban on All International Flights Until 30 June 2020

According to a public announcement issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), the temporary ban on all international flights to Thailand will be enforced until 30 June 2020.

It may be recalled that last 27 April 2020, CAAT issued a temporary ban on all international flights coming to Thailand in order to maintain the continuity of the prevention and control measures against COVID-19. The effectivity of the original announcement was set to expire this coming 31 May 2020.

Based on this latest development:

  • The ban on international passenger flights to Thailand will be extended from 1 June 2020 at 17:00 UTC to 30 June 2020 at 17:00 UTC.
  • All flight permits granted for such period will be canceled.
  • The ban does not apply to state or military aircraft, emergency landing, technical landing without disembarkation, humanitarian aid, medical and relief flights, repatriation flights, and cargo flights.
  • The passengers on board the aircraft in 3. will be subjected to the measures under communicable disease law, such as 14 days state quarantine, and the regulations under the Emergency Decree on the State of Emergency.
